OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME
BGCHarlem implements comprehensive out-of-school time programs that will promote positive academic and developmental outcomes using Project Learn approach based on the research of Dr. Reginald Clark, which posits that high-achieving students are the result of their participation in more activities that reinforce the skills and knowledge they learn in school.
AFTER-SCHOOL
In partnership with the NYC Department of Education’s Office of Community Schools & Community School Districts 3, 5, and 6, BGCHarlem provides a minimum of three hours of school and center-based after-school programming for K-12 students. Programs are customized to align with school culture and meet the specific needs of the population served. Emphasis on building both academic and social/emotional competencies that will lead to post-secondary success.
SUMMER CAMP
Eight-week, full-day program; emphasizing prevention of summer learning loss and promote social/emotional wellness. Participants are exposed to academic and cultural enrichment activities as well as exposure to sports and fitness activities. Weekly participants engage in various field trips to local National Parks Services sites and other significant historic and cultural institutions.
