At Boys and Girls Club of Harlem, child safety is always our number one priority.
We have an unwavering commitment to maintaining the health and safety of Club members, staff, parents, and volunteers.
All activities on-site at our flagship clubhouse at the historic PS 186 adheres to all NYC, NYS, and Center for Disease Control and Prevention and New York State Department of Health guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all participants, including:
Daily temperature checks
Hand-washing and sanitizing stations
Hand-washing education
Daily cleaning/sterilization of all program areas
Strict social distancing measures and signage
Staff and club members wearing masks
Limited class sizes
We started these measures this summer. For a recap of all that we did for Harlem youth this summer, click here.
Decontaminating included decontamination services donated to BGCHarlem by Pathogend Biotech.
Pathogend Biotech used its unique system for complete decontamination to kill germs instead of removing them while leaving only water vapor behind without any harsh or harmful chemicals — the kind of service and safety our youth deserve.
We will continue to monitor all CDC and NYC recommendations for update-to-date information and have advised all staff, families, and youth to continue taking precautions as recommended.
